Artisan Vichan grew up in a small village in northeastern Thailand, surrounded by lush rainforest. From an earlier age, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, which has inspired him to create stunning artworks that celebrate the natural world, using sustainable materials. Woodcarving has been a family tradition for generations, and Vichan was taught the craft by his father. Through his work, he is able to support his family while preserving the culture and heritage passed down through the generations. “The beauty of wood has always inspired me to create these pieces. Both large and powerful, the trees of the forest hold these carvings within; my role is simply to remove the excess wood. I am proud to share the beauty of my culture with the world through my creations.” – Vichan
